Poole and Bournemouth’s biggest and best family live music weekend, Poole Harbour Festival returns this month with more than 40 acts appearing on four stages and headliners including 90s legends Republica and K-Klass and 21st century pop-rock stars Scouting For Girls.

Thousands are expected for the three-day festival now in its sixth year at Baiter Park with a line up that also includes sensational Bristol dance music fusionists Dr Meaker, a host of top DJs including a reunion of the legendary Manor DJs, and stellar tributes to the likes of Elton John, Queen, Foo Fighters, Muse, Oasis and Meat Loaf.

There’s free children’s entertainment all weekend with the amazing Rent A Dinosaur the undoubted stars of the show, alongside Jamie Jambo, Krazy Kev (Fri, Sun), Mad 4 Animals (Sat) and Jules the Entertainer (Sat) not forgetting street performers and the popular circus skills workshops.

“This year we’ve pulled out all the stops to makes sure Poole Harbour Festival is bigger and better than ever before,” says festival director Ben Dyas.

“We can’t wait to welcome our regulars back again because we know they love our mix of great music, great family entertainment and great food and drink, but we’re also looking forward to meeting lots of new people and showing them why Poole Harbour Festival is well established as the jewel in the crown of summer in Poole.”

The pulsating weekend line up of brilliant main stage acts is headlined by Republica who are best known for their 90s hits Drop Dead Gorgeous and Ready To Go, and the enduringly popular Scouting For Girls whose She’s So Lovely and This Ain’t a Love Song are as popular with parents and kids alike.

Having grown out of Bristol’s ground breaking drum and bass scene, Dr Meaker are one of dance music’s most popular live draws, while star DJs including Grammy-nominated Rhythm Is a Mystery hitmakers K-Klass, Seb Fontaine, The Manor DJs, Jon Langford & Paul Moss and the Ibiza sounds of Mark Rush Palmer and Vicky Sax will be keeping the dance tent at perfect pitch.

As ever, the festival boasts a strong line up of local talent with rockers Saints of Sin, perennial party starters Mother Ukers, Lady Winwood’s Maggot and the world music sound of Mr Pacho Vibes System.

Poole Harbour Festival is renowned for the quality and diversity of food and drink on offer and this year’s selection is better than ever with a range of delicious street food to fuel revellers and a wide choice of local ales and ciders at the bars.

“We like to make sure there’s something to keep everyone busy all weekend and this year we’ve also made room for even more traders, arts, crafts and design stalls,” adds Ben.

“And with weekend tickets starting at just £27 for adults or £45 for families, plus a host of drinks bundles offers that can be bought in advance we’ve made sure we’re the region’s best value summer festival as well!”

Poole Harbour Festival opens at 5pm on Friday, noon on Saturday and 11am on Sunday, closing at 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.
