So many people want to see Far from the Madding Crowd in Bridport that the town’s Electric Palace is putting on another showing on Friday 5 June.
The venue secured two screenings May of the new film starring Carey Mulligan after hosting the Dorset premiere in April. Tickets for Thurs 28 May and Sat 30 sold out within days of going on sale.
Both of those screenings feature a question and answer session with Caroline Montagu, the Countess of Sandwich, who lives at Mapperton House, near Beaminster, where much of the film was set.
Bridport Electric Palace manager, Susan Warren, said: “We are very grateful to Lady Sandwich for agreeing to do the Q&A, which will the audience an insight into how Mapperton fitted into the story.
“We were delighted with the response from local people, who really wanted to see this film in Bridport, even though it’s been shown elsewhere. So when tickets sold out for both showings, we quickly arranged for another one to be put on. I want to make sure no-one misses the chance to see this amazing film.”
Far from the Madding Crowd is at Bridport Electric Palace on Friday 5 June. Doors open at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30pm. Tickets, at £4, are available from the Electric Palace box office, which is open from Tuesday to Saturday, or online via Seetickets.com
