When it is pointed out to members of the far right that they are hypocritical liars who care next to nothing for women and children but are merely obsessed by people who look and think differently to them, what do they do?
They click on a laughing emoji. Check beneath this or any post where their hateful ideology is challenged, and you will find them. Whether because of their upbringing, their education, or their lack of critical thinking skills, they behave like vermin and parasites towards those with empathy and compassion.
They will often be the first to comment on posts and argue with decent people. They will intimidate and bully using unfounded tropes and misinformation as if they were firing a machine gun in a drug fuelled stupor. And they are dangerous.
When they talk about crime, there is always a pattern. Certain offences are amplified, repeated endlessly on social media, and presented as evidence that society is supposedly under threat from a particular group of people. Other crimes, however, are quietly ignored.
One such case has emerged in Dorset, where a man has been jailed after subjecting his partner to years of horrific abuse. According to court reports, the victim endured violence, intimidation and coercive behaviour over a six-year period before her abuser, Bradley Ellsworth of Poole, was finally brought to justice. Incidentally, he was sentenced to five years and three months in prison after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating, intentional strangulation and harassment at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday, June 15.
This was not a momentary loss of temper. It was not a drunken argument that got out of hand. It was a sustained campaign of domestic abuse that lasted for years and left a woman living in fear within her own home.
Cases like this are tragically common. Across the UK, domestic abuse remains one of the most widespread forms of violent crime. Women are murdered by current or former partners every year. Thousands more suffer physical assaults, psychological abuse, coercive control and sexual violence behind closed doors.
Yet these are not the stories that dominate far-right Facebook pages, Telegram channels or online influencers. There are no viral posts demanding mass deportations. There are no marches through town centres. There are no claims that this proves the collapse of civilisation.
Why?
Because this crime does not fit the narrative.
The reality is that most violence against women is committed not by strangers but by men they know. Most domestic abuse happens within relationships and families. It is a problem that cuts across race, religion, nationality and social class. It cannot be blamed on migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities. It forces society to confront uncomfortable truths about misogyny, power and control.
That is precisely why the far right has little interest in discussing it.
When crime is selectively reported and selectively condemned, it ceases to be about public safety and becomes about politics. The victims become secondary to an ideological agenda.
If we genuinely care about protecting women and tackling violence, we should be outraged by every serious offence, not just the ones that suit a political narrative. A woman terrorised by her partner for six years deserves the same public concern as any other victim of violent crime.
The people who constantly claim to be defending women and children are strangely silent when confronted with domestic abusers, coercive controllers and violent partners who happen to be white British men. Their outrage appears to depend less on the severity of the crime and more on the identity of the perpetrator.
This case is a reminder that violence against women is not confined to any one community. It exists everywhere. It is committed by people of every background. And if we are serious about reducing crime, then every victim matters.
Not just the victims who can be used to score political points.
