Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a woman they would like to identify following the theft of an elderly man’s bicycle in Bridport.

The bike was left against some railings in South Street near to Bridport Town Hall at 3pm on Wednesday 24 January 2018 but was not secured. The theft is believed to have occurred at 3.47pm.

The bike is described as a white ladies mountain bike with purple writing on the side.

Police Constable Brian Puttock, of Bridport police, said: “The bike belongs to an independent 83-year-old man and I am very keen to locate it as it is the only transport he has.

“Following enquiries, I am now in the position to issue a CCTV image of a suspect. I appreciate the image is not very clear but I hope that someone will recognise this woman who was walking with a pushchair prior to the incident. I would ask anyone who knows who this woman is to please contact Dorset Police.”
