Appeal for information following theft of till in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a till was stolen from a salon in Weymouth.

It is reported that at around 6.40pm on Friday 26 August 2022 a staff member was working in Tahneeā€™s Hair & Beauty Studio in Portland Road when they noticed a man and woman standing by the front of the store.

The man went behind the counter and grabbed a red cash box and ran out of the store in the direction of Gallwey.

The male suspect is described as white, approximately 25 years old and of unkempt appearance and slim build with messy mousy-coloured hair and a short scruffy beard. He was wearing a patterned white T-shirt and jogging bottoms.

The woman is described as having short dark hair that was worn in a ponytail.

Police Constable Joseph Garrard, of Weymouth police, said: ā€œEnquiries are continuing into this incident, including carrying out CCTV enquiries in the area.

ā€œI am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or found a red cash box in the vicinity since the time of the theft, to please come forward.

ā€œI would also urge anyone who may have relevant information or footage to help the investigation to get in touch.ā€
