Take a trip with Miracle into uncharted waters
And find yourself wrecked on a treacherous shore,
Beset by moon calves, puppy-headed monsters,
And apes with foreheads villainous low.
Discover an enchanted island,
Twangling with sweet airs and instruments,
Humming with sucking bees and smelly macs,
Ringing with the cries of enemies,
Beating with old jealousies and young love,
And all stirred up by a cross magician…

Over the years, acclaimed Cornish company Miracle Theatre has developed a reputation for producing a varied, high quality programme, which includes dynamic adaptations of classical works. Every summer the company embark on a popular outdoor performance tour across the South West, and are a highlight of the Artsreach summer programme in Dorset.

This year, to celebrate of 35 years of producing engaging, inventive and enjoyable theatre, the company have brought together a team of talented collaborators, past and present, to create a fresh and musical adaptation Shakespeare’s timeless play ‘The Tempest’. With new music by Jim Carey and the original text respectfully shaken and stirred, Director Bill Scott liberally applies Miracle’soffbeat andhumorous style to this classic, creating a fresh new productionthat will delight audiences of all ages.

Following performances earlier in July in Dorchester and Worth Matravers, Miracle Theatre are returning and visiting four final venues in Dorset, so grab your friends, bring a blanket, pack a picnic and get prepared for a night of Miracle madness – come rain or shine! Recommended 8+
