Since the launch of their latest album ‘Aspects of Joy’, the James Lascelles Quartet has been touring across the UK to showcase their works, with memorable concerts at venues such as Foyle’s Jazz in the West End of London, and Mama Stone’s in Exeter. Artsreach are pleased to be welcoming this exceptional group of musicians to Dorset for one special concert this winter.

With their uplifting mix of world music, folk, jazz and Anglo/Caribbean grooves, the Quartet comprises four highly skilled, open and seasoned professionals. Richard Bailey (Des’ree, Jeff Beck) is on drums and percussion, Kuma Harada (Van Morrison, Billy Ocean) on bass/guitar and Tim Herniman on sax and violin. James Lascelles leads the quartet on keys and percussion. Classically trained as a pianist and percussionist, globally taught and open to all styles, cultures and sounds, Lascelles was given his first lessons in improvisation by the late Sir John Tavener. Since then he has worked alongside Frank Zappa, Joan Armatrading and Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel amongst others, and has composed, arranged, produced and performed for theatre, TV and film.

Join this outstanding quartet for a musical exploration around the world and back this winter.

Fri 13 December, 7:30pm. Powerstock Hut. Tel: 01308 485264
