CCTV appeal following assault and theft from shop in Poole

Officers investigating a shoplifting incident and subsequent assault on a shop worker in Poole are issuing a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to.

At around 4.45pm on Saturday 7 August 2021 a woman entered Co-op on Good Road, filled a basket with items and left the store without paying. A shop worker followed the woman into the car park, where it is reported that an altercation occurred.

At around 5.45pm on the same the day it is reported that the woman returned with a second person and assaulted a shop worker. They sustained injuries to their head and ear that required hospital treatment.

Police Constable David James, of Poole North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was a prolonged and sustained attack on the victim and I am carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible.

“As part of my investigation, I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a woman I would like to speak to. I would urge anyone with information about her identity to please come forward.”
