In 1993 when Emma Charlesworth was pregnant with her first daughter Molly, she decided that it was the perfect time to set up her own business which would stock a fabulous range of prams and pushchairs for all parents.  Since then the Baby Birds business has grown from strength to strength and since closing the retail shop in Dorchester, and Crossways warehouse, the business has consolidated and expanded into larger premises at Link Park in Chickerell, the new unit is on two floors and holds stock of prams, pushchairs, accessories and dolls prams which are sold all over the world.

Award-winning Baby Birds are situated at unit D2, Link Park, Chickerell and offer many brands of prams included their unique range of “Roma” prams which are created and designed in China by Emma Charlesworth, Director of Baby Birds and Roma Prams.

Emma said “I just knew exactly what mums, needed from a pram, which meant that when I was working directly with the manufacturers in China in 2015 I knew just what was needed.  It has always been my dream to design, manufacture, ship and sell my range of prams.  Together with my suppliers we literally built the prams with scraps of fabric, sketches, mood boards and accessories, the manufacturers made me a sample and from there the first Roma pram was born in 2016. “

Baby Birds will be celebrating the launch of their brand-new showroom and retail outlet at Unit D2, Link Park, Chickerell.  Mickey Jones, Chief Executive of DJ Property said “I am delighted that Emma and the Baby Birds business have decided to expand their business into Link Park.   Link Park is getting busier by the day and the Baby Birds business is just the sort of global business that benefits from being based in a purpose-built unit adjacent to other leading brands”.
