An impressive evening of dance, live hair styling, catwalk, pyrotechnics and speeches awaits those attending the Inspire Hair Show at Weymouth College on Tuesday 24th March. The annual extravaganza, now in its fifth year has grown from strength to strength and brings together students from across the college utilising their skills for the spectacular show. Students from Hair, Beauty, Media, Photography, Art, Performing Arts and Catering have been planning the event since September 2014 and the time has almost arrived for their hard work to be revealed.

Guests to the sell-out show will be first welcomed at the exclusive HIX Academy for pre theatre cocktails and canapés before being taken over to the College’s Bay Theatre for the awe-inspiring show. Here, guests that include local businesses will experience a catwalk hair show, a live final of this year’s hairdressing competition, photography gallery of the hair and make-up photoshoots taken over the past academic year, and a captivating dance production. Julia Cohen, Sector Area Manager for Service Industries and the HIX Academy said: “What an amazing opportunity this is for our students. They’ve worked incredibly hard all year and this event enables them to showcase their skills. It’s great that we’re able to involve so many students from across the college and in the past the event has even led to employment opportunities.

The show has grown year on year and is fast becoming the show that everyone wants to go to.” Anthony Coleman a current Level 3 hair student at Weymouth College said: Taking part in the live competition last year was great, but this year is even more exciting as my model is part of the Level 3 Show. It’s really good work experience and I can’t wait to show the salon owners what I can do!” Guests will be welcomed to the HIX Academy at 6.00pm before being whisked off to the Bay Theatre for the show at 7.30pm. Tickets have sold out for this event; however the college will be live tweeting on the night using the hashtag #Inspire15 For the past three years media students have documented the shows.
