Officers investigating the theft of a bag from Bournemouth beach are issuing CCTV images of a man and two women they would like to speak to.

At around 4.35pm on Sunday 5 August 2018 the victim, a woman aged 30s, left a rucksack under a towel and clothes as she went swimming in the sea near to Bournemouth Pier.

When she returned a short time later the rucksack – which was black with a grey bottom – was missing.

The bag contained the victim’s mobile phone, keys and wallet, which had her bank card in it.

The card was subsequently used to carry out transactions totalling £70.05 at Tesco stores in The Square and The Triangle in Bournemouth.

Following enquiries by officers, CCTV images have been obtained of a man suspected of using the card at the Tesco store in The Square and two women suspected of using it at the store in The Triangle.

Police Community Support Investigator Jared Sharman, of Bournemouth police, said: “We have made a number of enquiries to try and identify these three people and are now issuing the images in the hope that someone might recognise them.

“I would ask anyone with information about their identity to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55180125311. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
