SEEING at first hand the devastating impact that spinal cord injuries can have on people’s lives has led to a local firm of solicitors in choosing the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) as one of their lead charities to support.
Steve Simpkins, Principal at Simpkins and Co Solicitors in Highcliffe has become a passionate advocate for the SIA through representing numerous clients who have sustained major injuries through either road traffic accidents or accidents at work.
The firm recently hosted a fundraising event at Highcliffe Castle in aid the charity; and for the second year running will be entering a team into the ‘Going the Distance’ London bridges walk on September 18th.
Commenting, Steve said, “As Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and sitting on the Law Society Personal Injury Panel, I see and hear many astonishing personal cases. Spinal cord injuries can have a devastating impact on someone’s life, but through the marvellous work of the SIA they receive assistance in rebuilding not just their own lives, but those of their families and loved ones.”
“The personal injury cases I have personally dealt with include those who have been going about their daily routines – driving or working, when a catastrophic incident changes everything. Life is short and if we can do anything to help make a difference – then we will.”
Steve will be joined by two work colleagues, Jacque Aitken and Lynn Knight on the 8 mile walk, which takes in some of London’s most iconic bridges and landmarks.
