Officers investigating the theft of materials from two properties are issuing an image of a van that is believed to be involved in a bid to identify the driver.
At around 3.30pm on Friday 19 February 2021 a van pulled up outside an address in Ophir Road in Bournemouth. A man got out and went into the garden of a property and stole a quantity of scrap copper wire.
A second incident was reported to have occurred during the afternoon of Wednesday 24 February 2021. A van pulled up outside an address in Corbiere Avenue in Poole and began to load pieces of aluminium that were on the driveway into their vehicle.
They were challenged by a neighbour and the vehicle drove off.
Police Sergeant Steve Boston, of Dorset Police, said: “Following enquiries, we know that the previous owner of the van sold it in February 2020. Enquiries at the new registered keepers address have unfortunately so far been unsuccessful.
“We believe that the same van was involved in both incidents and I am now issuing an image of it in the hope that someone may know of its whereabouts.
“If you have seen this van parked up at an address on a regular basis or know who may be driving it, please get in contact with Dorset Police.”
