Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at around 9.30pm on Tuesday 19 December 2023 of a collision involving a silver Hyundai i10 and a pedestrian in Christchurch Road in Boscombe, near the junction with Gloucester Road.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the pedestrian, a Bournemouth man aged in his 30s, was taken to the hospital for treatment to serious injuries. His next of kin has been informed.

A 19-year-old woman from New Milton in Hampshire was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.

Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this collision to establish the full circumstances and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

“Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to this incident and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during this period.”
