Bridport Pantomime Players bring Red Riding Hood to Bridport Electric Palace from 1- 4 February 2017.
The village of Sunnymead is a happy place where everyone sings and dances, watched over by the good fairy Bluebell.
Preparations are well under way for Red Riding Hood’s birthday party but the Big Bad Wolf is hungry and determined to upset everyone. He tricks the local policemen into capturing a Weather Fairy and makes her change the weather to ruin the celebrations.
Luckily, Sam the woodcutter is on hand to help protect everyone. He is especially concerned when Red Riding Hood gets lost in the foggy forest on the way to Grandma’s cottage.
Will she discover that the ‘big teeth’ belong to the Wolf? Will Sam reach her in time? Will the Wolf get his dinner? Get your tickets for Bridport Pantomime Players production of Red Riding Hood and find out for yourselves…

This poignant documentary is about a boy with autism who learned how to understand the world and communicate with it through Disney characters.
Roger Ross William’s (God Loves Uganda) remarkable new documentary has won awards and acclaim at festivals across the US.
A representative from Autism Wessex will be at the showing.
Focusing on autistic teenager Owen, Life, Animated tells the story of his fascination with classic Disney animations and how they have given him both a pathway to understanding language and a framework for making sense of the world.
When Owen Suskind was three years old, the previously chatty little boy shut down. His verbal skills vanished. He closed in on himself. His family were devastated by a diagnosis of autism, which came with the warning that he may never speak again. But then Owen suddenly said a line from one of the Disney films that he watched avidly. And the animations that were his passion also became his key to unlocking the world. This heartwarming documentary pays tribute to a remarkable young man and the supportive family who helped him reconnect with the neurotypical environment which, filtered through his condition, had become a baffling and frightening place. More so than dramas that deal with people on the autistic spectrum, this documentary, through expressive sound design, appealing animation and Owen’s observations, gives real insight into the mind of a person with autism.

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone give terrific performances in Whiplash director Damien Chazelle’s beguiling musical romance, La La Land. The setting is contemporary Hollywood, the tone light and airy, the story simple, but lent immense verve by the style of Chazelle’s direction and the chemistry and sheer charisma
supplied by Stone and Gosling, who radiate charm, sincerity and vulnerability as they open up to each other. They play wannabe movie star Mia and pianist Seb, both hobbled by frustrated ambition when they meet and fall in love. But success, when it
finally arrives, comes at a personal cost.
Rejecting cynicism in favour of sweet-natured, open-hearted romance and full of smartly choreographed musical numbers performed with heartfelt grace by its stars, Chazelle’s musical is being hailed a masterpiece – a contemporary Singin’ in the Rain.
Recently nominated for 7 Golden Globe awards.
“Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone shine in a sun-drenched musical masterpiece.” 5 stars Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones, NT Live: The Comedy of Errors) plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s iconic play, broadcast live from the National Theatre, and with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia.
Wolfgang ‘Amadeus’ Mozart, a rowdy young prodigy, arrives in Vienna, the music capital of the world – and he’s determined to make a splash. Awestruck by his genius, court composer Antonio Salieri has the power to promote his talent or destroy his name. Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God.
After winning multiple Olivier and Tony Awards when it had its premiere at the National Theatre in 1979, ‘Amadeus’ was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film.
