On Sunday 23rd September in a sweaty mobile portakabin two experiened BBC producers and Kate Wilson from Bridport Arts Centre came away smiling from a dream project that took 18 months to fund and put on air for the community of Bridport and parts of west Dorset. Because of the lack of real radio coverage in this modern day 2012, Bridport FM provided a service put together by many volunteers. This was their first time putting together a range of radio programmes. Self produced, 47hrs has certainly given everybody who helped a taste of what can be achieved. RSL level 87.7 and online streaming also gave an extra boost too coverage.  A few hugs, tears and flowers were banded about too. Thank you to Kate Wilson for her support and for Debra Herane and Georgie Greene for fine effort overall.

Hopefully the people reading this and local business’ and active advertisers will make this all possible again in 2013.  There really is a missing market in west Dorset for a true community station like this.  Let’s hope this happens very soon for the people of Bridport and west Dorset .
