Detectives investigating a report of attempted burglary in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Officers attended The Centenary Club at the Jubilee Retail Park at around 4am on Friday 12 August 2022, following reports of an alarm sounding at the premises. It was reported that a window had been damaged in an attempt to gain entry to the property.

Following searches of the area, a 29-year-old man from the Bridport area was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.

A number of items believed to be linked to the alleged offender were also recovered nearby in Radipole Park and Gardens.

Detective Constable David Pearce, of Weymouth CID, said: “Our investigation is ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone with information or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to please contact us.

“I appreciate this was in the very early hours of the morning, but our enquiries suggest there may have been a dog walker and possibly another member of the public in the vicinity around the time of the incident. I would urge these people to please get in touch as they may have information to assist our enquiries.”
