Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they investigate a burglary in the Dorchester area.

It is believed that some time on Friday 31 March 2024 entry was gained to a building site on Frome Lane in Frome Vauchurch and a number of power tools had been stolen.

Officers are also investigating further break-ins to a barn and a shepherd’s hut that occurred between Tuesday 26 March and Saturday 1 April 2024 and believe the incidents could be linked.

Police Constable Jack White, of West Dorset police, said: “We are conducting a number of enquiries into these incidents, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the relevant time period, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may come across any power tools being offered for sale locally in suspicious circumstances.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240047865. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
