CCTV appeal following assault in Bournemouth

Officers investigating an assault in Bournemouth are issuing a CCTV image of the suspect.

Enquiries have been ongoing into the assault that occurred at the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe on Friday 26 July 2019 and officers have now obtained CCTV footage of the incident.

It was reported that at around 12.30pm a man entered Meridian Furnishers in the shopping centre and started being abusive and aggressive towards a member of staff. As they attempted to usher him out of the shop, the man pushed the victim and punched him in the eye.

Security staff from the centre arrived and escorted the man from the premises.

The victim did not sustain any injuries that required medical treatment.

Police Constable Georgina McKeown, of Bournemouth police, said: “We have been continuing to make enquiries into this incident and have now obtained CCTV of the suspect.

“I am releasing his image in the hope that someone will recognise him. I would urge anyone with information about his identity to please contact us.”
