CCTV appeal following assault in Weymouth

Officers investigating an assault in Weymouth town centre are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to identify.

It was reported that between 1.20am and 1.40am on Sunday 10 September 2023 the victim, a man aged in his 40s, was reportedly struck to the head with a pool cue or similar item in Westham Road.

He sustained an injury to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police Constable Lauren Edwards, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this assault and have obtained CCTV images of a man we would like to identify.

“I would urge anyone with information relating to this man’s identity to please contact us.

“I would also like to speak to any witnesses to the incident who have not already spoken to police.”
