Police investigating a sexual assault in Bournemouth have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify.
The incident took place on Friday, 27 February 2026, at the Buffalo Bournemouth, where a woman in her 20s reported being inappropriately touched by a man.
According to Dorset Police, the woman was inside the Wimborne Road venue when the man allegedly touched her over her clothing without her consent. Officers say the incident has understandably caused distress to the victim and they are continuing enquiries to establish exactly what happened.
Police Constable Aimee Holland, who is leading the investigation, said officers are working to identify the individual captured on CCTV.
“We are doing all we can to identify the person responsible,” she said.
“I am now in a position to issue an image of a man I would like to identify and I would ask anyone who recognises him to please come forward.”
The CCTV image is being circulated in the hope that members of the public may recognise the man and help officers trace him as part of their investigation.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have been in the venue at the time, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to contact police. Even small details could prove important in helping officers establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260029150.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers via its website or by calling 0800 555 111.
Officers say all reports will be treated seriously as they continue efforts to identify the man and support the victim.
