Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify following a theft by finding incident in Christchurch.
At around 2.55pm on Wednesday 30 September 2020 the victim, a local man aged in his 20s, attended HSBC bank on High Street. While he was using the cashpoint, he placed a folder containing his passport, national insurance number card and bank account details on top of the machine.
The man left the bank without taking the folder with him. When he returned a short time later, it was discovered that the folder had been taken.
Police Community Support Investigator Kate Hann, of Dorset Police, said: “Following enquiries I have obtained a CCTV image of the man who is suspected to have taken the folder from the cashpoint.
“It is possible that the folder was taken with the intentions of handing it in, but this has not yet happened.
“I would ask anyone who recognises this man to please get in touch so that we can try to reunite the victim with his documents.”
