Officers investigating a theft by finding incident in Ferndown are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

Between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday 9 September 2021 the victim used a self-service till at Tesco in Pennys Walk.

She forgot her Huawei P30 Lite mobile phone at the till and left the store. When she realised she did not have it a short time later she went back into the shop and spoke with a staff member, but nobody had handed it in.

Police Community Support Investigator Richard King, of East Dorset police, said: “The phone contained irreplaceable sentimental pictures and I would like to locate it and return it to the victim.

“As part of my enquiries I have obtained a CCTV image of a man I would like to speak to as he may have information to help locate the mobile phone. I would ask anyone with information about his identity to please get in touch.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the person who took the phone to please do the right thing and come forward to Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210146544. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call Freephone 0800 555 111.
