The past weekend saw children and families make their way to the Royal Arcade in Boscombe to create their very own personalised Christmas decorations at the free arts and crafts pop up provided by the Arcade.
All those shopping and passing through the arcade were entertained by award winninglocal saxophonist Claire Manners as she wowed shoppers with popular Christmas tunes to get them in the mood, other musicians included the acoustic blues singers ‘Nobodys Business’ and throughout the rest of the day requests for Christmas favourite records were played on the portable vintage record cart supplied by Lorna and Matthew from the Shelley Theatre, who delighted audiences with classic records, spinning the decks and putting a spring in everyone’s step!
Newly arrived this Christmas in the Royal Arcade is a pop up Christmas Art Bizarre featuring a unique blend of local artists and artisans across many different styles, something to tempt all tastes and budgets.
The Art Bizarre Christmas pop up shop will continue throughout December open 10am till 6pm. Come and escape the banal and retire to their cavern of curiosities and be seduced by their warm hospitality, mince pies and maybe a small glass of mulled wine. Whether your Christmas shopping, looking for something to go on the wall to match the sofa or just a new beanie they have it all and if they don’t have what you want, they can make it!
The last weekend of Christmas activities in the Royal Arcade will take place on Saturday 17thDecember! As the school holidays commence come along to the beautiful Art Deco Arcade to take part in FREE Children’s arts and crafts – make your very own Christmas decoration to hang on the Christmas tree at home.
There will be a beautiful snow princess wandering around the Arcade enchanting children and passers-by whilst enjoying Wendy Allen the Saxophonist, the Town Crier and more will be heard generating interest around the Arcade on Saturday.
