Cloverleaf Chair Covers has presented Macmillan Caring Locally with a cheque of £2231 from funds raised at their charity ball.
Bournemouth-based company Cloverleaf Chair Covers has made a significant contribution to Macmillan Caring Locally in Christchurch, a charity which provides specialist palliative care to patients with advanced, progressive or incurable illness. The money was raised at a recent charity ball organised by Michelle Masters-Bond, who runs the family chair cover hire company alongside her husband Nick.
Taking place at the Hamworthy Club in Canford Magna, Michelle selected Macmillan Caring Locally to receive charity support as several of her family members have been diagnosed with cancer. Inviting local people to attend the charity ball, money was raised through tickets sales to the black-tie event which featured a three-course dinner and live entertainment. Music was provided by local live bands, Something Blue and Samba Panashe.
To raise additional funds, a raffle featuring a variety of prizes was held on the evening. This successfully raised £548 towards the total sum. Combined with sponsorships from Maidman’s Marquees Hire in Verwood, Versatiles Ltd in Fordingbridge, L of A Car in Dorchester and NMB Flooring Ltd in Bournemouth, the evening raised £2231.65 for Macmillan Caring Locally.
Michelle Masters-Bond, said:
“It was a pleasure to help support Macmillan Caring Locally at this year’s charity ball. Unfortunately, on the evening I had to make an announcement that the magician, who is also a relative, was unable to make it following a rare form of cancer diagnosis. For me, this brings home the importance of Macmillan Caring Locally and the vital service and care it provides in the community.”
Neal Williams, Trust Secretary of Macmillan Caring Locally, said:
“The Cloverleaf charity ball was an excellent and fun event which raised a significant sum for Macmillan Caring Locally. It’s thanks to the generosity of the local community that we can continue to provide specialist care to those who need it most. I would like to thank all those who attended and a special thank you to Michelle for organising the event.”
