Witnesses sought following collision between lorry and pedestrian in Dorchester

Officers investigating a collision in Dorchester involving a pedestrian and a lorry are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Dorset Police was called at 9.22am on Tuesday 31 August 2021 to reports of an injury collision in Weymouth Avenue near to Tesco involving a pedestrian who was directing a heavy goods vehicle and became entangled with the load, causing him to be pinned between the item and a parked Range Rover.

Luckily the pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s and from Taunton, only sustained minor injuries.

Police Constable Donal Doyle, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and witnessed the incident to please contact Dorset Police.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have captured any of the incident on dashcam.”
