Christchurch and District Community Band performing at the Council Organised 75th Bandstand Anniversary Celebrations

The Christchurch and District Band have been bowled over by support from the local community. It was formed only in February of this year but already has over 40 members. They do not charge subscription or membership fees and all monies raised go directly back into the band for instruments and music etc. It is a not for profit organisation.

In its short time much has been achieved; leading the St Georges Day Parade in Bournemouth, performing at Burton Veterans Day, 75th Anniversary of Christchurch Bandstand and more. The band are also traveling to one of Christchurchs’ twin towns, Aalen in Germany, in September to perform at their Beer Festival. They will be performing with the local pipe band and concert band whom they already have strong links with.

November 3rd will be the bands biggest local performance, The Christchurch Festival of Remembrance – For Queen and Country at the Regent Centre (proceeds from the Raffle going to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal). Tickets on sale now from the Regent Centre Box Office (01202 499199)

The band always welcomes additional members. If you would like to be a part of this fun, lively community band call 07974 320122 for more information. Rehearsals every Tuesday in Christchurch from 7.30pm – 9.30pm. All ages welcome.
You can find them on Facebook under Christchurch and District Band and their website www.christchurchanddistrictband.co.uk
