Concern for welfare following note… found on Canford Cliffs beach

Officers are appealing for the public’s assistance after a note was found on Canford Cliffs beach in Poole in which the author spoke about taking their own life.

The discovery was made by a member of public shortly before 11.19am on Saturday 3 October 2020 underneath a rock at the bottom of Flag Head Chine.

The letter is dated Wednesday 30 September 2020 and the author mentions a sister and the death of their father.

Chief Inspector Neil Wright, of Dorset Police, said: “We are concerned for the welfare of this individual. We currently have no reported missing people in that area and nearby searches have been negative.

“We have no idea who the author is and would like to appeal for information from the public that may assist us identify the individual.”
