Julie Girling MEP

Julie Girling, Conservative MEP for South West England and Gibraltar contacted Dorset Eye and stated that:

“Since 2001 the UK has applied a 5 per cent reduced rate of VAT to the supply of sanitary products which is lower than many other EU countries. Whilst there is no VAT exemption for female sanitary products permissible under EU law, I believe it is time for this to change. I will be asking the European Commission to change the VAT rules. I believe the UK Government  should work with Other member states to bring about change in this area. I believe sanitary products should be zero rate across Europe.”

How many other Tory female politicians will stand up against their leadership?
