With Reform UK up to their hairlines in corruption accusations, there is now a new favourite in town to win the Clacton by-election. Count Binface is on course to win over the people of the constituency with policies that would actually benefit them, unlike Reform UK’s billionaire-friendly policies.
With all the other political parties refusing to become part of Farage’s, Tice’s, and Reform’s narcissistic political games, it looks like a straight fight between the billionaire’s puppet Farage and the truly anti-establishment candidate Count Binface. Unless the population of the town of Clacton is more gullible than the country thinks it is, Count Binface looks likely to be their new MP. Hopefully this would finally send a message to the toxic home of ex-Tory extremists that they are not wanted by the huge majority of the British public.

At the centre of the controversy is an investigation by Parliament’s Standards Commissioner into whether Farage correctly declared financial support received before entering Parliament. The inquiry concerns a £5 million gift from Reform UK donor Christopher Harborne, as well as support allegedly provided by long-time associate (and convicted criminal) George Cottrell, including funding for security personnel, social media staff and accommodation. Parliamentary rules require MPs to declare certain gifts and benefits connected with political activities, although Farage maintains the assistance qualified for the exemption covering purely personal support.
The investigation has been paused following his resignation but could resume if he is re-elected. Depending on its findings, sanctions could potentially include suspension from Parliament, which in turn could trigger a recall petition. (That is another by-election following the one Farage has called).
Separate questions have also emerged involving Reform UK’s deputy leader Richard Tice. Reports revealed that Cottrell loaned £80,000 to one of Tice’s companies, while Cottrell’s mother donated £1 million to Tice’s think tank. These transactions were reportedly included in confidential Suspicious Activity Reports submitted through the National Crime Agency’s anti-money laundering system. Importantly, the existence of a Suspicious Activity Report does not imply wrongdoing. Tice says he was unaware of the reports until contacted by journalists and has requested an investigation into how confidential financial information was allegedly leaked to the media.
I know many are so desperate for the Narcissistic Billionaire’s Lobby Party to win that they will excuse any form of corruption or allegations. However, for the rest of us, do we really want the UK to become a banana republic? (A banana republic typically implies a corrupt, autocratic government and an exploited working class subservient to wealthy foreign corporations). I know I don’t.
