A country where too many seem to have forgotten that this kind of divisive, scapegoating rhetoric once led Europe into WWII and to the Holocaust.
For the above, at least the flags are out now, and the calls for “mass deportations” grow louder each day. Calls directed at non-white people, many of whom fled war, persecution, or torture, as well as at Muslims who chose to make their home here. You are not “saving” Britain, nor are you “defending Western civilisation” or “protecting women and children.” You are doing the exact opposite: pitting ordinary people against one another while shielding the ultrarich from accountability, democracy, and progress. And for this, you are being rewarded handsomely.

However, thankfully a countermovement has begun with the signature: ‘Love will save us; hate will destroy us’.
Why Do We Need a Countermovement?
The reason that many decent people have had enough and are now responding with a different message is because love will always triumph over hate because it builds rather than destroys. Hatred corrodes the spirit, fostering division and bitterness, while love nurtures connection and growth. Acts of kindness and compassion, no matter how small, have the power to ripple outward, softening hearts and bridging divides. In contrast, hate burns itself out, leaving only emptiness, whereas love creates lasting bonds that withstand hardship and adversity.
Another reason love prevails is its resilience. Hate may be loud and forceful, but it is inherently fragile, feeding on fear and ignorance. Love, on the other hand, is patient and enduring. History shows countless examples where movements grounded in love, forgiveness, and solidarity have outlasted oppressive regimes and hostile ideologies. It is through love that people find the strength to forgive, to heal, and to rebuild, turning pain into purpose and anger into understanding.
Ultimately, love is the foundation of human progress. It inspires art, innovation, and community, reminding us of our shared humanity. Hatred isolates and diminishes, but love unites and elevates. Even in the face of cruelty, it is love that gives meaning to our lives and guides us towards a more hopeful future. For as long as people continue to care for one another, love will always have the final word.
So please reject the hate and the division that some are spreading and embrace the love that supports us and carries us when we most need it.
