An Exploration of Light, Colour and the Written Word

A new medium of art has lit up London town, film sets and the homes of world leaders, celebrities and the super-rich alike; meet Courty, one of the founding fathers of the new ’Neon Art’ movement.

Essex born Rob Court – AKA Courty – is not your typical artist, he didn’t train or study art but instead worked up from industry level and has spent his lifetime working with creative people practising and perfecting the 100 year old art of glass blowing neon tube lights.

Courty has now become a well-known and very well respected artisan of the craft and works hard in his East End studio to constantly push boundaries and explore new possibilities within Neon Art. Working with the sculpture from start to finish, Courty sketches his ideas then works with noble gases and the flame to create the most exquisite glass sculptures designed to entertain and illuminate your life in more ways than one.

Courty has spent over three decades illuminating London including theatres, stages and film sets so you’ve more than likely seen his work before. Courty’s work has also become very popular among the world’s elite with commissions for him to sculpt very personal messages. Thanks to his reputation for discretion and secrecy Courty has neon art pieces hanging on the walls of some of the most prestigious, exclusive houses and estates around the world.

Due to such high demand for Courty’s work he usually produces an edition of over 20 for each piece he creates for public sale. Westover Gallery in Bournemouth have been fortunate enough to acquire a rare Courty original from his ‘Abstract Thoughts’ collection called ‘Pink Outside The Box’.

This very special neon art sculpture can be viewed and enjoyed with a glass of bubbly now at Westover Gallery and is available to purchase for £8,160.
