Look who is leading the world here…keep in mind the Cuba has been denied basic medicine, technology, food supplies or ANY vaccines re Covid.

Completely illegally in many cases. The six decade long cruel, absurd sanctions are still severely limiting Cuban People. It doesn’t matter what your politics are (if any), this is absolutely wrong.
Cuba had to come up with their own vaccines for Covid. A lot of the Global South is relying on Cuba’s generosity re these vaccines. It is not a coincidence that Italy and many others nominated the Cuban Medical Teams for the Nobel Prize this year. Italians literally applauded the Cuban Medical professionals who risked a lot to help Italy (and others) early on in the pandemic Remember that Cuba took in the British cruise ship with Covid-infected patients last year when no one else would-including the USA. Then treated them and flew them home. The list of ‘firsts’ and historic medical successes by Cuba over the years is huge: First to stop mother to baby HIV prevention, cancer vaccines, operating on thousands of poor, non-Cuban citizens to save their eyesight, etc etc.
The Cuban Medical teams are in 59 countries as we speak, almost all for FREE. To help countries that are desperate. World Class Medical Professionals often hindered by pure political factionalism re basic supplies for the Cuban People. Ask the medical community about Cuban medical teams, ask the poorest countries on earth…as Chomsky recently said, to paraphrase: “The only truly Internationalist country during the pandemic has been Cuba.”
Oh, and before someone shares an article saying the doctors are victims (the BBC are particularly keen on this approach), bullied, exploited etc…we have personally spoken to many Cuban professionals outside of Cuba…we have spoken to AMERICAN doctors trained, for free, by Cuba having not been able to afford to train in the USA! Thousands of medical students from all over the world, including the UK, have trained and do train in Cuba.
So, we should ALL support the lifting of cruel, barbaric and often illegal sanctions on Cuba. Purely politically factional sanctions that President Joe Biden has already lied about reversing. HEALTH should ALWAYS be THE priority; not political posturing. No one thinks Cuba is perfect. We just believe that Cuba sets the medical example to us all, against the biggest odds it’s possible to have stacked against it. Cuba was doing well re Covid until even more US sanctions created even less food, medical supplies and medical technology reaching the island…which massively increased everyone having to que for many hours for everything, basically…and, guess what, Covid then became rife! Now they are on top of it again, thankfully.
So, to see this objective level of success re Covid vaccination, against those odds, all while their economy shrank by 11% (due to no tourism, more sanctions, illegal blockade etc) is nothing short of a miracle and an example to the rest of the world. Lift the blockade on Cuba, and use the Cuban medical example as a template for the rest of the world. Anything else is political posturing and cannot claim to have the health of The People as the priority. It’s that simple.
Viva Cuba! Cuba Libre! Un Pueblo Unido Jamas Sera Vencido! Hasta La Victoria Siempre!
