Cyclist hurt in fail to stop in Bridport

Officers investigating a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 5.25pm on Tuesday 22 June 2021 a collision occurred in West Street, between the mini roundabout outside the White Lion pub and the Tannery Road roundabout, involving a cyclist and a vehicle – believed to be a burgundy Citroen Berlingo. It is reported that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist was knocked off his bicycle and sustained heavy bruising to his arms.

Police Constable Paul Miners, of West Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries to try and identify the vehicle involved in this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“I would also like to appeal for anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
