Officers investigating reports of dangerous driving in Poole are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

At around 7.20pm on Wednesday 23 February 2022 an officer travelling in an unmarked police vehicle had cause to request the driver of a white Renault Megane to stop as it travelled along Ringwood Road from the Mountbatten Arms roundabout toward the Alderney roundabout.

It is reported that the vehicle failed to stop for officers and was followed for seven minutes along Dorset Way, Yarrow Road, Old Wareham Road and Ringwood Road. During this time, it is alleged the driver performed a number of dangerous manoeuvres. The follow was subsequently aborted.

Sergeant Chris Brolan, of the traffic unit, said: “During this incident a number of motorists had to take evasive action to avoid this vehicle and I would ask them to please make contact with Dorset Police.

“I would also ask anyone who may have captured all or part of this incident on dashcam to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/do-it-online, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220031101. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
