Officers investigating an incident where a swan was reportedly attacked by a dog at a nature reserve in Bournemouth and subsequently died are issuing an image of a man they would like to speak to.
Dorset Police received a report that at around 3pm on Tuesday 12 October 2021 a dog had attacked a swan at the Stour Valley Nature Reserve.
It was further reported that a local wildlife charity had assisted with treating the bird, and the RSPCA had been notified.
Sadly, it was later confirmed that the bird could not be saved.
Wildlife Crime Officer Joel Brooks said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and we are issuing an image of a man we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.
“I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.”
