Detectives have launched an investigation following a reported stabbing in Bournemouth town centre

Dorset Police was called at 6.35am today, Thursday 15 February 2018, to reports of a disturbance at an address in Old Christchurch Road.

Officers attended and a local man aged in his 30s was found with stab wounds to his back. He was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is described as serious but not life-threatening. 

A 23-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. A 26-year-old man, also from Bournemouth, was arrested on suspicion of assault. Both men, who are known to the victim, are assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Investigations are currently underway into this incident which took place inside an address. The premises is currently cordoned off, along with a small section of pavement in Old Christchurch Road, to allow crime scene investigators to carry out their examinations.

“Officers will be carrying out house-to-house enquiries and I would ask anyone with information in relation to this incident to please contact Dorset Police.”
