The Times recently reported how Blairite officials nobbled the last general election by running a secret operation to deceive Jeremy Corbyn and his closest aides. Blairite officials ran a micro-targeted campaign of Facebook adverts directed at the leader and his inner circle in order to hoodwink them into believing the party was running the campaign that the leadership had ordered. Instead, they spent vast sums of money on a completely different campaign that the leadership weren’t even aware of…

I think most of us were aware this sort of thing was going on but the sheer audacity is breath taking. In fact, there was an article posted on Jacobinmag.com shortly after the election (13th July 2017) that revealed how Corbyn, ordinary Labour members and Momentum all ran brilliant campaigns but were let down by right wing saboteurs within the Labour party. The article criticised certain Union officials who “misjudged” the membership but mostly focused on Labour’s regional bureaucracies, which it referred to as “Shambolic”. The article went on to explain how campaign resources were piled onto safe seats (presumably to prop up right wing candidates) while neighbouring marginals were literally starved of all resources. Not surprisingly, the Jacobinmag article was taken down almost 24hrs after it was posted but I still have the screenshots if anyone wants to read it.
Blairite dominance is certainly rife in West Midlands Regional Labour (my own area) and I doubt there are many more devious regional bureaucracies to be honest. I’ve been a member since June 2016 and I’ve observed some rather shocking practices that I have taken the liberty of reporting to the NEC and directly to Labour’s General Secretary, Jennie Formby. However, despite chasing them for nearly a month now, I’ve had little joy in getting anyone to respond, let alone getting any kind of resolution.
In my opinion, if we’re going to take control of the party out of the hands of this small clique of right wing, anti-Corbyn zealots then we need to start speaking out and sharing evidence. I’ve put together a short summary of some of the things I’ve included in my report to Jennie Formby in this post that I added to Spotlight Newspaper yesterday and I would ask comrades to please come forward and share their own experiences so that we can get a more detailed picture of what we’re dealing with here and also who’s responsible and perhaps so that we can debate an effective strategy for dealing with these people. If you’d prefer to talk to me privately then please feel free to message me instead.
