DJ PROPERTY established in 1963 has celebrated its 50 years in business by hosting a Summer BBQ at Link Park, Weymouth’s newest business park.  Over 200 people attended the celebration including employees, tenants, colleagues, friends and family of DJ Property.

Mickey Jones, Chief Executive of DJ Property, said this is a very special year for the family business.    Mickey thanked guests for coming and said   “Good business is about trust and building high quality long-term relationships.  This event is a celebration of business longevity and testament to many great relationships built over many years.

I am delighted and touched that so many of you have given up your free time to join us this evening.  Most of you have trusted DJ Property over the years and together we have built some great relationships.

The relationships with our customers and advisors often span several decades and are the foundations on which DJ Property has grown.  Some of these relationships are as old as me and were put in place by someone with the foresight and determination to form a truly remarkable business 50 years ago this month, that person is my father David Jones the founder of DJ Property.  My mother Kate continues to work hard within the company and without her support DJ Property would not be where it is today.

He added:  “DJ Property remains a very successful family business and we will continue to work hard by investing in the local economy and its people.”

During the event, the family hosted a humorous awards ceremony, presented by Darron Garnett of Real World Services.  Awards were presented to a selection of DJ Property’s longest serving customers and to other customers for attributes such as repeated poor parking, speeding, foul language and other entertaining characteristics.  Darron’s wit was well received by the large gathering of local business people and made for a very successful evening.

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary, the David Jones Memorial has been commissioned with Weymouth College. The memorial has been designed by stone masonry student, Yasmin Impson and it is hoped that the memorial will be completed by the end of the summer when it will be erected at Link Park.
