We are quite fortunate in the UK in that we can already see what a Farage administration at any level could look like.
Nigel Farage is one of Donald Trump’s greatest fans – he regularly neglects his job as MP for Clacton and jets off to America to fawn at the feet of the new US president. Not for nothing is he known in media circles as “Trump with a pint!”
Farage has talked of bringing a US-style DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) attack on national and local government administrations in the UK; in the USA, DOGE has hoovered financial, medical and personal data on all US citizens and residents to create a secret database just like other totalitarian regimes, both Fascist and Communist, as well as other opportunists seeking to make a profit from power and intent on stifling any potential opposition.
Farage has always been happy to flirt with such regimes, appearing on Russian media and also enjoying far-right applause and attention in the USA.
So effectively, Farage is really Trumpy-Farage, willing to crash the UK stock market, as happened with Brexit, when Trumpy-Farage’s wealthy cronies quickly cashed in, buying fallen shares in the deeply depressed market and making huge profits when the shares eventually rebounded somewhat.
Why do you think Trump’s billionaire cabinet went along with his tariff rhetoric that has crashed the US stock market so profoundly? (For example MAGA Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has been discovered benefiting from insider information, selling off her shares before Trump announced his ill-considered Tariff strategy.)
We suffered the effects of disastrous incompetence when Prime Minister Liz Truss nearly crashed the UK economy. It is no coincidence that she was in office for the shortest time on record.
