Dorchester Man Arrested Following Theft From Car

A further arrest has been made following a CCTV appeal in relation to a reported theft from a vehicle in Dorchester.

Between 11pm on Thursday 24 October and 5.25am on Friday 25 October 2024, it is reported that a car was broken into in Celtic Crescent.

Two watches were allegedly stolen from inside the car and are described as women’s Rolex and Tag Heuer watches.

Attempts were made by the alleged offenders to sell the watches at a jewellers in the town, but they were unsuccessful after staff at the shop became suspicious and the whereabouts of the watches are unknown.

A 28-year-old man of no fixed abode was previously arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and was released on police bail.

Following a CCTV appeal, a 28-year-old Dorchester man was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and handling stolen goods. He has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.
