The Big Squeeze (Ropemakers, West Street, Bridport DT6 3QP): The ‘Big Squeeze’ has been travelling around Europe and in the summer of 2010 played at the Saulieu Cajun and Zydeco Festival in France, where they made such an impression that they were invited to play at Europe’s premier Zydeco Festival “Zydeco Zity” in Raamsdonksveer, Holland, in May 2011. Arnie Cottrell (Ropemakers, West Street, Bridport DT6 3QP): Arnie Cottrell has been playing music for most of his life. He started out on the folk scene of the 60s and 70s where he formed an enduring but interrupted friendship with East end guitarist, singer and songwriter Richard Digance . He went on to play in various rhythm and blues, soul, reggae, psychedelic psycho outfits, Cajun, old timey and ceilidh outfits before realising that his true love was acoustic music as long as the songs are good. That’s where he is now. He plays acoustic guitar, National tricone, mandolin, mandola and bouzouki.
