Brenden Howard the General Manager of The Grove Hotel, a holiday retreat for those with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, is in the finals of the Southwest Tourism Awards.
Hailed as Dorset’s Unsung Hero at the Dorset Tourism Awards 2016. Brenden Howard, the General Manager of The Grove, is in the finals of the same category at the regional Southwest Tourism Awards. Providing a welcoming, attractive and comfortable holiday retreat for those who need it most, Brenden Howard has been responsible for the ongoing success of the hotel, which is nestled on Bournemouth’s East Cliff.
Brenden Howard has worked as the General Manager of The Grove since it was first established in 2011 by a local charity, Macmillan Caring Locally. The Grove is a not-for-profit establishment, which caters exclusively for people from across the UK with cancer and other life-limiting illness, along with their families and carers.
Continually providing the very best customer service, Brenden is being recognised for giving guests a relaxing and memorable holiday experience whilst also meeting their very specific and often complex needs. He heads a team of 32 loyal and long-serving staff including 24-hour specialist nurses.
A testament to his management, The Grove has won several awards in the last year alone. These include a Silver in the Best Small Hotel category – up from Bronze last year, The Hotels Combined ‘Stellar Stays Property Award’ for outstanding levels of customer service and satisfaction, a Bournemouth in Bloom 2016 silver gilt award and a Five Star TripAdvisor Rating. These accolades show that thanks to Brenden and the team, The Grove Hotel continues to improve its visitor experience year on year.

We have always aimed to create a hotel that can offer a peaceful and enriching holiday, whilst also providing the highest level of service and care.
