In 2013 Dreadzone celebrated 20 years in the game with the release of their 7th studio album ‘Escapades’.

The band, with roots in Big Audio Dynamite, have had career which has spanned the credibility of a Creation Records release, major moves on Virgin and independent releases including through their own label Dubwiser Records. Their highly anticipated new album ‘Escapades’ was recorded at Mick Jones’ London studios and co-produced by original Dreadzone member and co-founder Tim Bran.

The core members Greg Dread, original bassmaster Leo Williams, the unmistakable MC Spee, legendary reggae vocalist Earl 16 alongside Chris Compton on guitar and Bazil on technology make up the current Dreadzone live line up. Hit records, critical acclaim and a huge, devoted fan base are theirs, due in part to their utterly storming live shows. As well as live favourites from their back catalogue the band will be showcasing new tracks from Escapades at their shows in 2014.

Electro-dub pioneers Dreadzone formed in 1993 when ex-Big Audio Dynamite drummer Greg Roberts teamed up with Tim Bran, with the duo soon joined by bassist Leo Williams and keyboardist Dan Donovan, also formerly of Big Audio Dynamite, completing the group’s first line-up. A festival favourite, Dreadzone opened the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 1994 and began to bring their unique blend of electro, dub and reggae to a wider audience, going on to chart seven Top 60 singles (including their Top 20 hit ‘Little Britain’) and are still going strong after 18 years.

Dreadzone released The Good, The Bad And The Dread – a compendium of their excellent musical story so far in 2011 and their groundbreaking 1995 album ‘Second Light’ was re-released in March 2012 by EMI as a two disc special edition featuring previously unreleased live concert material.

Trip hop, ambient and dub live act Solar Wolf will be supporting Dreadzone at the Electric Palace.

The band come from the south of England and are set to embark on a European tour next year.

Their live performance is described as ‘a soundscape experience’.

Following the release of their 3rd EP Strawberries & Green, they are taking the UK electronic and trip-hop scene by storm.

Signed to Moon Lounge Records, they have been performing their live set all over the UK, playing with the likes of Dreadzone, Radio Riddler and Mr Scruff and gaining more followers of their unique sound of bass, drums, live scratching, samples and synths.

Solar Wolf’s live incarnation brings together four musicians and guest vocalists with a wide range of influences and experience of improvisation to expertly mix live instruments with technology and electronics, giving their highly atmospheric live show an intriguing, free, ambient and cinematic feel.

Their new album ‘Shadow Circus’ features the guest vocals of Michelle Emdee Denny.
