Drewlec Electrical Services has worked with local private girls’ school Talbot Heath, Bournemouth, to ensure that the existing incoming electrical supplies were upgraded and moved ready for the new development work to begin at the school.
The enabling work has involved tracing underground cables and then transferring the school’s main incoming electrical supplies, meters, main distribution panels and submains from the old swimming pool plant room into a new GRP kiosk away from the new development site. Close liaison with the local supply company, SSE, and the school was critical in planning the move of the 250amp three phase supply to ensure the least disruption.
New distribution panels and meters were installed along with spare capacity for future developments. Drewlec delivered this ‘turnkey’ project for the school coordinating all building, ground works and specialist lifting services under one contract.
Chris Evans, director of support services at Talbot Heath School, said: “I’ve been working in construction and facilities for nearly 40 years but was pleasantly surprised when working with Drewlec. The work they carried out was crucial to the main project programme and happened with no disruption to school life. We enjoy working with a family company who display ownership, professionalism and a positive attitude throughout the team.”
Richard Drewitt, managing director of The Drewitt Group, commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with Talbot Heath School as it embarks on an exciting journey to develop the site. We wish them the best of luck with its future plans, and are positive that the girls will benefit thoroughly from everything that will be on offer.”
