Arthur Smith – the star of TV, Radio and Wimborne !

We feel that, just now and again, Wimborne needs big name comedy at every day prices – and this is what we’re aiming for in this one-off comedy spectacular!

This event in The Allendale will feature:

Arthur Smith as our headliner . He is the well known star of many TV and Radio programs, including ‘Grumpy Old Men’, and a regular presenter on ‘The One Show’.
Arthur started on the alternative comedy circuit in the 1980s and has been a regular performer at the Edinburgh festival. He is also an accomplished playwright, presents the BBC Radio 4 travel programme ‘Excess Baggage’ and has been a regular on ‘Loose Ends’, ‘Grumpy Old Men’ and ‘The One Show’.

Opening the night will be Noel James, an experienced and very original comedian from Swansea, Wales. He has headlined at most Comedy Clubs in the UK and major festivals, and regularly gigs abroad (Dubhai, Shanghai, Berlin, Cape Town, Canada). Noel is surreal, with wordplay and lots of ‘clever’ thrown in too.

Cheekykita is an oddball – character comedy meets clown says “hello” then moves on… storytelling, song’n’daft dancing.

Chris Ashton is a Northern puns and one-liner merchant, a wordplay specialist and grammar bully. All with a cheeky smile.

To ensure the evening begins and ends with a laugh we have one of Dorset finest exports – Chris Tavner is our MC for the night. Warm and engaging, Chris has his own view of the world , whilst his style varies from dry wit to totally absurd. In other words – he’s perfect for this special night of comedy.

Tickets for this event will be priced at £12 and only available @The Allendale Centre box office ( tel 01202 887247 or www.theallendale.org).
