Elderly Man Hurt In Fail To Stop Collision In Southbourne

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth.

At around 6.25pm on Friday 22 August 2025, a collision occurred on Seabourne Road in Southbourne involving a moped and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian – a local man aged in his 70s – sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening or life changing and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The rider of the moped failed to stop at the scene.

Police Constable Rhianna Sly, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway into this collision to establish what happened and identify the moped rider.

“I am appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge the rider of the moped to please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
