Bournemouth 2026 Trust is recruiting 2 to 3 trustees to join their board as they continue to expand and develop in their new roles as Community Land Trust and Community Development Trust.  The proactive and innovative Trust facilitates sustainable strategic change in Bournemouth and seeks trustees who sympathise with the aims of the organisation and who can give commitment and time to help them grow.

In 2012, Bournemouth 2026 Trust transitioned from a highly successful Local Strategic Partnership into its current function.  With a desire to become effectively focused in helping to realise Bournemouth’s long term vision as a thriving place that is fun, inclusive, safe, healthy and green, the Trust streamlined its activities to four key priorities:

o   Boscombe regeneration

o   West Howe regeneration

o   Enabling Young People to realise their potential

o   Helping to ‘Turnaround’ families with multiple problems

The Trust focuses on improving the lives of those most vulnerable, deprived or not reaching their full potential.  The  intent of the Charity is to improve the overall quality of life in the area. The imminent completion of Gladstone Mews shared ownership affordable housing in Boscombe is testament to its capabilities.

In a desire to ensure they reach their full complement of 12 persons of relevant diverse backgrounds on their board, the Trust is accepting applications through the month of May 2014 from interested individuals.  They are seeking those who are passionate about Bournemouth and its future, who want to help improve life for the communities in the area and desire to make a difference.

Bournemouth 2026 is looking for driven individuals who have expertise and enthusiasm to offer in at least one of the following areas:

·                                      Property development

·                                      Strategic leadership skills

·                                      Understanding of the challenges and issues facing the Voluntary and Community sector

·                                      Local sustainability issues

Interested applicants should have strategic vision and strong leadership skill and will represent the organisation as appropriate.  They will need to have the time and interest to meet at least 6 times a year and sit on at least one project group.  Applicants must be available for contact outside meetings and events by telephone or e-mail.  The Trust would particularly welcome applications for individuals who would also be interested in becoming a Chair of Trustees, should the opportunity arise.

For further information, an application pack or an informal discussion, please contact Debbie Clifton, Bournemouth 2026 Development Manager on 01202 392053 or by e-mail to [email protected].  Applications close 31stMay 2014.
