Extensive Damage Following Burglary in Bridport

Police are appealing for information following a burglary that caused extensive damage to a property in Bridport.

Dorset Police were alerted at around 10am on Saturday, 20 December 2025, after a break-in was reported at an address in King Square, off King Street. Officers attended the scene and found that the interior of the property had been badly damaged. Despite the scale of the destruction, it is not currently believed that any items were stolen during the incident.

Investigators are now working to establish who was responsible and are keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed unusual or suspicious activity in the area. This includes sightings in King Street or the surrounding streets leading up to the burglary, as well as anyone who may have information about people acting out of character or causing disturbances nearby.

Police Constable Dan White, from Bridport police, said the level of damage was considerable and stressed the importance of public assistance. He urged anyone with relevant information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward, as it could prove vital to the investigation.

Local residents, business owners and visitors to the area are particularly encouraged to think back to anything they may have seen or heard that could help officers piece together what happened.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101 and quoting occurrence number 55250186616. Alternatively, those who wish to remain anonymous can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers via its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
