Officers investigating a reported fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Gillingham are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

At around 8.45am on Friday 6 January 2023 a 12-year-old boy was walking with his mother in High Street when he was clipped by the wing mirror of a passing silver car. It was reported that the car involved did not stop at the scene.

The boy suffered a minor injury to his arm and did not require medical treatment.

Police Constable Natasha Riley, of North Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries into this incident and I would appeal anyone who saw what happened, or who has information relating to the vehicle involved, to please get in touch.

“I would also ask that motorists who were driving in the area around the relevant time check any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55230003689. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
